Hugo Man by Hugo Boss is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Main first blast is pleasant apple and spice notes, they quickly give way to woody Pine and Fir.
There is something ‘off’ about that’s being described here and what I got in my bottle of HUGO BOSS MAN.
As described here HBM sounds like HUGO BOSS ORANGE FOR MAN (rectangular almost decanter type cut glass bottle) only it’s been repackaged. Yet the juice in my bottle smells like HUGO MAN (which came in a rounded bottle with cap attached by green ribbon and ‘HUGO’ in red across the bottle). What I got from Amazon is the new plain bottle with HUGO MAN written discreetly on the front… and it has the BALSAM FIR & Pine notes. So this is NOT a repackaged BOSS ORANGE it is a repackaged BOSS MAN.
There’s a slight ‘chemical ‘note and it has a hint of the Christmas room defuser about it. Longevity and silage are poor. Cologne strength. After an hour or so it’s a skin scent, after around 4 it’s barely noticeable.
It has a similar notes to the ultra cheap scent ‘M’ by Ted Baker. It’s been repackaged into a boring rectangular bottle. If you like the smell of pine then this is a manly scent. Personally unless it goes for around £20/25 for 100ml I wouldn’t bother. It’s a bit generic because it’’s been copied by every chemist and clothes shop for the past 20 years. Quite sporty and fresh. I’d try before you buy though to be honest if you are gifting it’s so averagely ‘nice’ that unless you really hate pine/fir then it’ll be acceptable as a gift (and maybe even loved) by most men/teenagers.
